🔁 Word Reverser

Reverse the order of words in each line. "Hello World" becomes "World Hello" — instant, in-browser, no upload.

About the Word Reverser

The word reverser flips the order of words within each line of your input, while keeping each word's characters intact. For example, Hello World becomes World Hello. Lines are processed independently, so a multi-line paste keeps its line structure but reverses words on each line.

Words are split on whitespace runs, and the original whitespace between words is preserved on rejoin, so the visual spacing of your text remains the same — only the word order changes.

How it works

  • The input is split into lines using a newline-aware split.
  • Within each line, words are separated by runs of whitespace, reversed in order, then rejoined with the same whitespace preserved.
  • Empty lines remain empty, and leading/trailing whitespace on a line is kept in place.

Frequently asked questions

Does it reverse characters within each word? No — only the order of words is reversed. Each word's letters stay in the original order.

How does it handle punctuation? Punctuation attached to a word stays with that word, since splitting happens on whitespace only.

Does it preserve my line breaks? Yes. Each line is reversed independently, so line breaks remain in their original positions.

Does it support non-Latin scripts? Yes. Any sequence of non-whitespace characters is treated as a word, so CJK, Cyrillic, Arabic, and other scripts all work.
